The number one rule on Time to Dance is respect. Respect the staff, respect your fellow members, and respect the guests who come on to ask questions. Disrespect of any kind will not be tolerated on this site.

Despite the Proboards TOS saying that all members of Proboards Forums must be at least thirteen, we take that a bit further and request that all members be at least sixteen years of age. Although there is no content on this site which would be considered harmful to a younger member, there are many concepts explored which they may not be able to properly understand.
However, if you think you've got what it takes, you're welcome to try us on for size.

Read all of the info that the staff have provided for you. It's there for a reason, and that's to make sure you know what's going on.
t e x t t a l k
The use of "text talk" or "leet speak" is expressly forbidden on the forum. That means you cannot use it in the Member Chat Area as well as the Role-Play Forums. Many people find it to be highly annoying, including the staff. We've all been through school, so put that hard work to use.

Ads may not be posted anywhere on the site except in the forum designated for the posting of advertisements. Failure to follow this rule in any way will result in the ad being deleted and the advertising site being blacklisted.
a p p r o p r i a t e n e s s
Do not post links to any sites that exceed the PG-13 rating. That means no "shock" sites, gory sites, or porno sites. The same goes for images. Do not post any images that exceed a PG-13 rating. Doing so will result in being instantly banned.
s e x u a l co n t e n t
Due to Proboard's strict PG-13 rating, all sexual content is banned from the site. The staff requests that any thread which goes past such a rating utilize the "fade to black" method. We also ask that you do the same with extreme violence or gore.

Time to Dance lacks any set word count. Members are assumed to decide on a word count between them when threading.
f o r u m s e t s
You are perfectly welcome to format your posts in any way. However, the staff have some guidelines that you are expected to follow.
However, make sure that it's not blinding or difficult to read on the site's skin.
Even if you choose to not use a forum set for your posts, the staff request that you blockquote all in-character posts. It makes them look tidier, and appeal to the admin's OCD.
l i t e r a c y
Please make sure that you spell check all of your posts, and do your best to catch any grammatical errors. The staff recommend reading your posts aloud to ensure they make sense.

Make sure your character fits in with the world created on this site. The time period is a mixture of the Industrial Revolution and the Roaring Twenties. No one's going to be wearing skinny jeans or listening to their ipod.
Also make sure that your character fits with the race you chose for them to be. Your Siren is not going to be a body-builder.
Failing to stick with the world of Eria will ensure a quick denial of your character.
g i r l - l o v e
This site focuses on romantic or sexual relationships between females. That means there should be no male characters. Males would be highly unwelcome in the village of Io, and as such male characters are not welcome on the site.
a g e o f c o n s e n t
All characters must be at least thirteen years of age. No exceptions, I don't care how cute they are.

Time to Dance uses a anime/manga face claim system. This means you must choose someone from an anime OR a manga OR an anime based video game to represent your character. The staff may allow exceptions if the picture is of good quality, and of an original character whom you can find several different pictures of. This is done at staff discretion, and you must get permission from the artist.
Your play-by does not have to possess the features of the race they're representing. We understand that there aren't enough animanga people who have them.
a v a t a r s
Avatars can be at max 115px wide and 300px tall. They should be of your character's play-by and not exceed a rating of PG-13
s i g n a t u r e s
Signatures can be at max 500px wide and 250px tall. They should feature your play-by and not exceed a rating of PG-13.

Please use your online nickname as your chat box name, as opposed to your character's name. Unless they're both the same.
i c o n s
All cbox images resize to 50px/50px. Please do not use moving images, as they can cause headaches.
a d v e r t i s i n g
Do not advertise in the cbox. No exceptions.
r o l e - p l a y i n g
Please refrain from role-playing in the main cbox. We have a secondary in-character chatbox for that.
t r o l l i n g
If a troll comes in the cbox and starts being a douche, please just ignore them. They feed off people's anger. If it gets to be too bad, I do allow site members to text message me. Just make sure you say who you are.

When using the ic-box, please use your character's first name.
i c o n
It is preferred that you use an icon to represent your character in the ic-box
u n - a p p r o v e d
It's perfectly fine to play as unapproved characters, as the chat box doesn't affect things on the board.
a c t i v i t y
If the ic-box affects activity on the main board, it will be locked. Make sure you still post on site, plz.
These rules may be updated any time as needed. All members will be alerted if such changes occur.
